We're off around the world!

Hard to believe that after a year of planning, our trip to Southeast Asia begins tomorrow.

As an added bonus (at least that's the glass is half full way of looking at it), because we're using frequent flyer miles, the airlines graciously decide to send us completely around the world on our trip. We leave tomorrow afternoon from Seattle and fly east over North America to Frankfurt, Germany. As luck would have it, the workers at Frankfurt airport decided this morning to go out on strike. The alert I received advised us to expect delays. Hell, we were expecting delays 'without' a strike!

We've got 5 hours at the Frankfurt airport and I think it would be less expensive to spend that time at the casino in the airport rather than let Sonja loose on the airport stores.

Monday morning, we'll arrive in Bangkok, Thailand around 6:30 am and have 12 hours to do the "whip, bim, bam... thank you ma'am" tour of Bangkok. We've mapped out a full day and will see most of the highlights and, hopefully, even throw in a Thai massage. Then back to the airport for our evening flight to Hanoi.

The bulk of our travel is in Vietnam and I'll post daily updates (with pics). I know how excited folks are to look at other people's vacation pics... but too bad. Suffer through them. :-)
